Install Hushfort Pro and activate your licence

Hushfort Pro is a separate add-on plugin, hushfort-pro. It sits on top of the free Hushfort Security plugin and switches on the remaining layers. You need both: the free plugin does the work, Pro unlocks the rest.

Before you start

  • The free Hushfort Security plugin is installed and active. If not, start with Getting started.
  • You have the hushfort-pro.zip file and your licence key. Both are in your purchase email.

1. Install the Pro add-on

  1. In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  2. Choose hushfort-pro.zip and click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate.

Keep the free plugin active. Pro needs it and does not replace it. If you deactivate the free plugin, Pro has nothing to run on.

2. Paste your licence key

  1. Open the Hushfort menu and go to the Licence tab.
  2. Paste your licence key and activate it.

The Pro layers switch on. If you used them before, they come back with the settings you had.

One licence, one site

Each licence works on one site. If you try to use the same key on a second site, Hushfort tells you the licence is already in use.

Moving a licence to another site

  1. On the old site, open Hushfort → Licence and click Deactivate on this site.
  2. On the new site, install Pro and activate the same key.

If the old site is gone and you can't deactivate it there, contact us from the address you bought with and we'll help you move it.

What Pro sends to hushfort.com

Pro checks its licence about once a day and looks for updates. It sends three things only: your site's domain, your licence key and the Pro version number. No visitor data, no logs, no settings.

If hushfort.com can't be reached

Pro keeps working. If the licence check fails because our server is down or your host blocks the connection, Pro carries on for a grace period (currently 14 days) and shows a notice. A licence check never locks you out of your own site.

When a licence expires

An expired licence switches the Pro layers off. That is all it does:

  • The free layers keep working.
  • Your Pro settings and history stay in the database.
  • Renew, and the Pro layers come back with the same settings.

Lifetime licences don't expire.
